Versatile microphone configurations

The DR-70D comes complete with two in-built microphones. Thanks to their omni-directional polar pattern, they provide a wholly natural sound, capturing signal from a 360 degrees angle. This also eliminates the risk of proximity effect ruining recordings when you need to capture a source up-close. You’ll also be able to use your own microphones on channels 1 and 2. The high level of gain they provided means you can use ribbons and low-output microphones without worry about hiss.

Location recording made easy

Recording on location can be problematic. However, the DR-70D will make it considerably easier. The in-built limiter is here to provide “peace of mind” when recording. This automatically engages should sudden dynamic bursts arise, decreasing the risk of clipping and distortion. Get the sound right at source using the adjustable five-setting low-cut filter. This automatically reduces any low-frequency rumble to ensure the viewer’s focus is maintained on the footage at all times.
