RFE Broadcast, an Italian professional FM transmitter manufacturer, has recently released a solar powered FM transmitter, to avoid the need for an inverter at solar powered transmission sites. The 100W transmitter can reach up to 30km depending on the antenna height on local terrain.
No need for an inverter
Inverters are expensive (at least the good ones are). Given that the power supply in a standard transmitter turns AC power back into DC power, it makes no sense to install a costly inverter to turn your DC solar power into AC, only to turn it back into AC. The new Mama Transmitter range takes away the need for that. Simply connect your FM transmitter directly to your charge controller and away you go!
