Overview

RadioActive’s first TV station and Cameroon’s first community-based TV station was Millennium TV, brainchild of Hon. Cyprian Awudu Mbaya, MP for Nkambe/Ndu Constituency and Questor at the National Assembly of Cameroon.

Millennium TV provides entertainment, news and current affairs programming in English, Pidgin and many local languages spoken in the area.  It was set up with a small budget, but sufficient to have a main TV studio and a news studio.

Many people in the area have a TV, but don’t have the funds for satellite channels, so they are limited to watching the National TV station, which is limited in terms of its appeal. Millennium TV will offer a range of programming tailored to people living in the area, promoting local culture, local issues and local events.

Main Objectives

  • Provide the local area with TV in their own language focused on issues and events affecting the local population
  • Provide opportunities for people from the area to get skills in TV production and management

Our Role

  • Supply and installation of the TV studio equipment
  • Design of the TV studios
  • Training the station team to produce live and recorded TV content, including news, interviews and coverage of live events
