Q Radio

Overview

Q Radio in the Gambia is the first independent radio station in the Gambia to cover the whole nation, with 4 transmission sites covering from West to East.

Main Objectives

• To provide a platform for independent news and current affairs
• To reach a national audience with news, interviews, music and discussion shows
• To promote Gambian culture nationally and internationally through its online platform
• To seek out and support the best in Gambian musical talent and share it with the world

Our Role

RadioActive provided predictive coverage mapping to design the radio network as efficiently as possible to reach the whole nation.  We then supplied and installed all of the broadcast equipment at the studio headquarters and the four transmission sites.  Then we trained up the staff to use all of the studio and FM equipment and worked with the production team to produce a set of high quality sound imagery and jingles for the station to use.

We now provide ongoing technical support to the engineering team as needed.
